Dimethicone first appeared on the human market with products for treating lice and nits. It is, in fact, the most used molecule in these treatments. Its great popularity is due to its effectiveness but especially its non-toxicity, which does not harm hair or skin.
Dimethicone works by contact on the parasite. From the silicone family, it traps the parasite in a sticky trap to immobilise it. Once the parasite is trapped, it can be removed by simple brushing. Its mode of action is non-aggressive and therefore suitable for the most sensitive animals: puppies, kittens, pregnant and nursing females, animals prone to allergies, etc.
